Renee Armstrong joined DPFM in 1999. She earned her bachelors degree in physiology with a minor in music from UC Davis, followed by her MD at UC San Francisco. She moved to Santa Rosa for residency training at Community Hospital/Sutter Medical Center. When not at the office you may find her hiking, biking, gardening or singing with the local acappella group Cantiamo Sonoma.
Laurie Cederberg graduated from the UCSF School of Medicine, then completed her Family Medicine Residency training at Ventura County Medical Center, an affilated program of UCLA. In addition to seeing patients at Doyle Park Family Medicine, she teaches both medical students and Family Medicine Residents at our local Residency Program, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UCSF. The mother of two school-age children, she is an avid reader as well.
Phyllis Guttman FNP has been a Sonoma County resident since 1973. She attended the RN Program at Santa Rosa Junior College, then went on to obtain her BSN and Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Sonoma State University. She has been seeing patients at Doyle Park Family Medicine since the formation of the group in 1995. Phyllis has a special affinity for her work with teens, and is committed to her role in preventative health care.
Kathy Horan graduated from Stanford University and received her medical degree from the University of California, Davis. She completed her Family Practice Residency at Community Hospital of Sonoma County. In addition to her office practice Dr. Horan teaches Family Medicine residents and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UCSF. You can often find her acting and singing in a variety of Sonoma County performance Groups.
Gary McLeod graduated from Harvard University and spent one year studying at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. He graduated from the University of California San Francisco Medical School and completed his residency in Family Practice here in Santa Rosa. Dr. McLeod is on the clinical faculty at UCSF and teaches in the local Family Practice Residency Program. He has lived with his wife and two sons in Sonoma County for twenty years.
Gloria Molica, FNP, has been a western Sonoma County resident for over 30 years. She is a graduate of the SRJC Nursing Program and the Sonoma State University Family Nurse Practitioner Program. In addition, she returned to SSU in 1990 to complete the Masters Family Nurse Practitioner program, with a rural population focus. A member of the DPFM staff since the mid-90s, she is particularly interested in preventative medicine, diabetes care, and health education for all ages.
Amy Shaw graduated from the UC Davis School of Medicine in 1989, then completed her training at the Santa Rosa Community Hospital Family Medicine Residency in 1992. She has a particular interest in Women’s Health, including expertise in osteoporosis and breast cancer. A leader in the medical community, she currently serves as director of Sutter’s Women’s Breast Care Center. Prior to her medical career, Dr. Shaw worked as a geologist, bicycle mechanic and sheepherder; experience that proved useful for navigating the rocky roads of practicing medicine in Sonoma County.
Larry Slater completed his medical studies at the University of Southern California before his residency training in Family Medicine here at Santa Rosa’s Community/Sutter Hospital. His academic career was completed during a Family Medicine Fellowship at UCSF, which led him to his part-time career in medical education as director of the Residency Program’s medical student clerkship. An Associate Clinical Professor of Family Community Medicine at UCSF, Dr. Slater is the recipient of numerous teaching awards, as well as the Residency Program’s ‘Alumnus of the Year’ award. “The JazzMD” can also be heard hosting his jazz show on our local PBS radio station KRCB.
